WORSHIP RESOURCE

The addition of contemporary music and instrumentation to today’s worship experience has brought the need for professional sound equipment to reproduce and record live performances. Yamaha is one of only a few high-quality musical instrument manufacturers to successfully transfer its knowledge and experience to concert and recording studio level audio equipment. Yamaha’s line includes high-value products like mixers, amplifiers, effect processors, loudspeakers, and recorders.

Mixers

The terms mixer, console, board, and desk are often used interchangeably. They all refer to devices that are used for combining, routing and processing audio signals on their way to speakers or other outputs. Mixers in a performance setting typically control microphones and line-level devices such as cassette decks and CD players. They can vary in the number of input and output channels, can be powered or unpowered, and can be either analog or digitally based. Yamaha offers products in all these categories across a broad price range.

Why Consider Digital Mixing?

Digital mixers can:
- Include effects, EQ, compressors, and gates, as built-in features
- Memorize “scenes” (including fader movements, channel on/off, effects, panning, EQ, and dynamics) for easy recall with the simple touch of a button
- Recall a sequence of scenes via MIDI program change messages
- Control access to critical parameters via a lock-out function

“Yamaha is the way we make music. From the AW4416 in my writing room to the Motif 7 and 8 and my digital grand on stage, they are the best musical instruments and pro audio line available.” – Stacie Orrico

Power Amplifiers

The audio power amp increases the strength of an audio signal so it can drive one or more loudspeakers. In sound systems, the power amplifier is always the final active component in the signal chain, located just before the loudspeakers. In small portable sound systems, the power amplifier may be built into the mixer. Both stand-alone amplifiers and powered mixers are part of Yamaha’s line of professional audio products.

Loudspeaker Systems

A loudspeaker system consists of one or more speaker components mounted in an enclosure for the purpose of converting electrical audio signals into sound. Although the most visible parts of a sound system are the loudspeakers at the front of the sanctuary, sound reinforcement is also frequently necessary in other areas to ensure complete sonic coverage. Examples include ceiling mounted speakers, portable PA systems, and/or monitor speakers at the recording location. High quality Yamaha loudspeakers, some of which are available in multiple, décor-matching or paintable finishes, are available to fill these requirements.
