Yamaha Hosts Junior Original Concert Series
Students Perform Original Compositions at Yamaha Piano Stage
ANAHEIM, Calif.The Yamaha Music Education Systems Division will host its Junior Original Concert (JOC) Series on Friday, January 20 and Saturday January 21, 2006 at noon each day in the Anaheim Marriott, Marquis Ballroom, Piano Stage. All NAMM attendees are invited to attend these performances, which are free to all.
Hosted by Kathy Anzis, the event will feature Yamaha Music School students performing excerpts from the internationally acclaimed Yamaha Method curriculum, along with an explanation of the unique high quality features of the Yamaha Music Education System for children. Two students will demonstrate the language of music with original compositions.
Gabriel Dotson, a 12-year-old from Mesa, Ariz. and a student at East Valley Yamaha Music School, will perform his piece “Just Travelin” for piano, bass and drums. Sarah Kunstman, a 10-year-old from Appleton, Wisc. and a student at Heid Yamaha Music School will perform her original composition “A Ride through Time” for piano, soprano saxophone, and marimba.
