Yamaha's New Student Violas And Cello: An Excellent Place To Start

ANAHEIM, Calif.—Yamaha Corporation of America, Band & Orchestral Division, will introduce the AVA5 Student Violas and AVC5 Student Cello at Winter NAMM 2006.

The new AVA5 Student Violas and AVC5 Student Cello will give Yamaha the opportunity to expand its acoustic string line. Handcrafted and made from carefully selected materials, the new student instruments are designed with the same traditional methods as Yamaha’s high-end acoustic string models. The addition will provide an excellent choice for the beginning violinist and cellist. Each student instrument features a solid spruce top, maple back, ebony fingerboard and inlaid purfling, and is finished with a rich oil varnish.

Covered under Yamaha’s Five-Year-Warranty, new AVA5 Student Violas will be available in 14-in., 15-in., 15.5-in., 16-in. and 16.5-in. outfits and new AVC5 Student Cellos will be available in 4/4 full size outfits. Rigorous quality controls, multiple evaluations and expert setups ensure that each student instrument meets and exceeds MENC standards.

“Yamaha is dedicated to providing beginning students with instruments of quality that allow them to play their best from the start,” says Ken Dattmore, Marketing Manager, Strings, Yamaha Band and Orchestral Division. “The AVA5 Violas and AVC5 Cello continue in this tradition, and we are pleased to add them to our exciting line of acoustic strings.”
