ANAHEIM, Calif.Yamaha Corporation of America, Band & Orchestral Division, will introduce the YMP-204M F Marching Mellophone and YEP-202M Bb Marching Euphonium at Winter NAMM 2006.
Designed for use in marching, high school and college bands and drum corps, the YMP-204M plays comfortably for French horn players doubling on the mellophone; it enables a free-blowing response, improved intonation over previous models and powerful sound in the upper register. The instrument replaces the YMP-203M, and is ideal for mellophone players who have traditionally had to compromise response.
The first marching only euphonium offered by Yamaha, the YEP-202M enables a rich, deep, dark euphonium tone for marching and excellent balance for the player. The balance reduces strain on musicians’ arms, making it more comfortable to hold.
