Yamaha Teams Up With John Hagstrom and Robert Sullivan on Signature Trumpet Mouthpieces
New Mouthpieces Offer Stronger Sound Through Specialized Rims
ANAHEIM, Calif.Yamaha Corporation of America, Band & Orchestral Division, in conjunction with Yamaha artists John Hagstrom and Robert Sullivan, has designed the YAC HAGSTROM and YAC RSULLIVAN Signature trumpet mouthpieces, which will debut at Winter NAMM 2006.
As professional players, Hagstrom (Chicago Symphony Orchestra) and Sullivan (Cleveland Orchestra) understand what makes a great mouthpiece, and they have designed these new reliable and well-balanced accessories specifically for professional and advanced trumpet players.
While larger rims can cause stamina and endurance issues for trumpet players, the YAC HAGSTROM’s smaller rim creates a more efficient balance between the performer and trumpet. Balanced with the features of a deeper cup and larger back bore, it is the optimal choice to meet the most demanding extremes of professional trumpet playing.
The YAC HAGSTROM is the standard mouthpiece on the YTR-9445CHS Orchestral C Trumpet, which Hagstrom also helped design.
An ideal size for a variety of uses, the YAC RSULLIVAN sounds strong and full thanks to its orchestral size rim and cup. It is well balanced, and extremely responsive and flexible compared to other large-size mouthpieces.
The YAC RSULLIVAN comes standard on the YTR-9335NYS Orchestral Bb Trumpet, which Sullivan helped design.
“Elite professional artists like John Hagstrom and Robert Sullivan offer insights into trumpet and mouthpiece design that can’t be matched,” says Ted Kuehnert, Marketing Manager, Accessories, Yamaha Band & Orchestral Division.
The YAC HAGSTROM-REP and YAC RSULLIVAN-REP are available in February.
