HALE PIANO CREATES STUNNING NEW LOCATION IN FORMER RIVIERA THEATER Modern Yamaha Concert Hall, 8,000-Square-Foot Showroom Undertakes $1M Revitalization CORAL GABLES, FL (October 22, 2001)Hale Piano, a Miami area music dealer, is celebrating its 53rd year with something brand new: a breathtaking million-dollar location on South Dixie Highway combining a sumptuous piano showroom with a state-of-the-art 5,000-square-foot auditorium that will be a magnet for music, art and business events for years to come.
Located in the former Riviera Theater adjacent to the University of Miami, Hale Piano's third location will make its debut Saturday, November 3 with a Grand Opening featuring musical performances, special offers and attendance by prominent members of the community. "This is a dream I had a long time ago," owner Chuck Hale says. "It's now become a reality, and I feel I owe it to the community to provide the best cultural experience possible." That philosophy guided the creation of the Yamaha Concert Hall at Hale Piano, a thoroughly modern performance venue with 275-person seating, theatrical lighting, and a fully equipped, acoustically-treated audio control room for professional recording. The hall, available for recitals, meetings and public events, will welcome the community to free Sunday concerts.
The store's showroom will highlight the complete line of Yamaha acoustic pianos, Disklavier player pianos, Clavinova digital pianos and electronic keyboards. Visitors will be greeted by the Riviera Theater's restored original marquee, and the striking Yamaha Disklavier Pro 2000a $333,000 high-tech player piano with its own built-in video screenwill be on permanent display near the main entrance. As part of its commitment to bring music to the community, Hale Piano's new location features a complete Wellness Center outfitted with Clavinova digital pianos for adult group lessons. Recent studies have shown that this activity can help older people combat stress, ward off depression and enjoy better physical health. Almost 100 people are already signed up for the Hale program. The store also includes eight private teaching studios, all equipped with Yamaha pianos, for use by local teachers affiliated with the company. In all, the new location will employ 35 people. The Yamaha Concert Hall at Hale Piano is available for rent, and makes an ideal location for product demonstrations, stockholder meetings and other functions in addition to music and theater productions. A variety of musical programs and prestigious competitions are already booked, some as far out as 2003.
