The Jamboree Concert featured 16 YMES students from the United States performing their own original music compositions, solo repertoire and a keyboard ensemble.

YMES is a global network of schools located in more than 40 countries. Students study under Yamaha's proven instructional methods, using the same textbooks and following the same curriculum, which stresses that children must not merely learn how to play instruments, but must also learn how to study music.

More than one million YMES students worldwide are eligible to participate in the Yamaha Junior Original Concert (JOC) program, which gives young musicians a chance to perform their own original compositions in a concert setting. Many of the young artists performing at the Bloomington Jamboree have participated in JOC.
