YAMAHA AND BBMak MAKE DREAMS COME TRUE BUENA PARK, CA (October 16, 2001)Pop superstars BBMak recently made dreams come true for California natives Linnsey Gorman and Kathryn Hagata, the winners of J-14 magazines "Win A Guitar Lesson With BBMak" contest. Group members Ste McNally, Christian Burns and Mark Barry were on hand in New York to act as superstar music teachers, while the girls got to play reporters. As an added bonus, Linnsey received a Yamaha CPX15W Compass West guitar, autographed by the band.
The British trio formed in 1996, united by a love of classic pop music, and setting themselves apart from the "boy band" genre by writing their own material and playing their own instruments. Their success began with the smash hit single "Back Here," followed by a support position on the 2000 Brittany Spears tour. They currently are enjoying the success of their 2001 releases, the album Sooner or Later [Hollywood] and the single "Miss You More" from The Princess Diaries soundtrack [Walt Disney]. The CPX15W (West) guitar represents the western point of the compass in the geographically inspired designs of Yamahas Handcrafted Compass Series. This acoustic-electric cutaway features a built-in microphone system for stunningly realistic acoustic/electric sound.
