YAMAHA BB1500A ELECTRIC BASS TAKES TOP AWARD

—Provides Solid Foundation in Changing Musical Landscape—

BUENA PARK, CA (November 1, 2001)—The winning combination of performance, playability and price which have made Yamaha electric basses the choice of working musicians worldwide is reinforced in the BB1500A electric bass. Ideal for the stage or the studio, this latest 4-string addition to the venerable BB line features superior sound and a tone versatile enough to fit comfortably into a wide variety of musical styles, from country to heavy rock. The BB1500A is currently available. The subject of a recent review, the BB1500A earned Bass Player magazine's "Editor's Award: Top Tone" in the November 2001 issue.

"As the lines of musical genres become increasingly blurred, today's musicians and their instruments must be able to adapt to any situation," states David Bergstrom, director of marketing, Combo Group, Pro Audio & Combo Division. "The BB1500A electric basses live up to that demanding versatility without compromising quality or features."

The BB1500A features a beautiful solid Alder body, mated to a slim, vintage-style Maple neck and full two-octave Rosewood fingerboard. Embellishments include gold tuners, a black pick guard and a fully adjustable brass bridge. Active hum-canceling single-coil pickups easily make subtle or dramatic tonal changes necessary to cover a variety of musical styles. A choice of Wine Red or Natural finishes adds an extra dimension to the BB1500A's stage presence.

"Regardless of your style, the slim neck makes this bass easy to play in a wide variety of applications," explains Gary Cook, Guitar product manager. "Plus, the addition of active electronics really highlights the tone and punch of the Alder body."
