YAMAHA STAGE CUSTOM DRUMS: THE NEXT STAGE OF EVOLUTION Stage Custom Standard and Stage Custom Advantage Models Now Delivering BUENA PARK, CA (May 8, 2001)Yamaha Drums expands on its successful Stage Custom Series with the debut of the Stage Custom Standard and Stage Custom Advantage drum kits. Designed for musicians at every skill level, these new drum sets offer professional sound and appearance at very attractive prices. The 5-piece configurations of the Stage Custom Standard and Stage Custom Advantage start delivery in May.
Every new Stage Custom configuration features a 17-in. deep bass drum with PowerStroke3-type heads, Yamaha's distinctive YESS suspension mounting system on all toms, and a TH-945 triple tom holder. The kits also feature Yamaha's newly-introduced 700-Series hardware, which includes straight and boom cymbal stands, a hi-hat stand, a snare stand and a bass drum pedal. All drum kits and configurations in the line ship in only two boxes, and include a set-up video hosted by drumming powerhouse Dave Weckl. "Just like their predecessors, these Stage Custom models set new standards for affordable drum sets," explains Jerry Andreas, marketing manager, Yamaha Drums. Constructed of 8-ply shellsMahogany with an outer Birch plythe Stage Custom Standard (SCS) features a redesigned steel snare drum and separate lug casings on the toms and bass drums, allowing the drums to resonate freely and deliver an "open" sound. The SCS set is available in four great-looking matte finishes: Matte Cranberry Red, Matte Marina Green, Matte Natural Wood and Matte Raven Black.
The Stage Custom Advantage (SCAW) carries on the tradition of hi-tension lug casings and shell construction of the original Stage Custom. The SCAW also features a matching wood snare drum and is available in four stunning metallic finishes and two gloss finishes: Blue Metallic, Green Metallic, Gold Metallic, Violet Metallic, Cranberry Red and Raven Black.
