To deliver its full-bodied sound while occupying a small footprint, the YST-MS28 relies on Yamaha's Active Servo Technology™ (YST™). Optimizing the interaction of the amplifier, enclosure and speaker, this patented technology not only increases the overall efficiency of the system, but also allows for the extended bass response of the YST-MS28.
The YST-MS28 is available in Platinum White or Calypso Black to match varying computing environments. Unlike most three-piece systems, the YST-MS28 is magnetically shielded so it will not affect video displays or magnetic media. Each of the compact satellite speakers has a 2-inch driver, and the right satellite conveniently houses the volume control and the power switch. The subwoofer unit can be placed on the floor, and features a beefy 5-inch driver and YST technology for big bass. The unit also features a headphone jack for private listening, and a separate bass volume to adjust the low-end component to the listener's taste.
The YST-MS28 has dual stereo inputs providing users with the flexibility to plug their soundcard into one and a CD player or other audio source into the other jack.
