In Education (MIE) Technology Assisted Music Program to a Berks
County school, the Northeast Middle School in Reading, PA. The school
was the winner of Yamaha's contest entitled, "Why Is MIE Technology Under the supervision of teacher Heather Frankhouser, the school submitted a video tape showing a tour of the school, the music staff and discussed why it is important for them to have MIE.
The MIE system consists of 16 specially designed keyboards that serve two students each, controlled by a desktop computer. Use of the keyboards is complemented by an effective, proven curriculum to help students learn the fundamentals of music. "As a part of Yamaha's ongoing commitment to music education, we are happy to award the MIE system to the Northeast Middle School in Reading, PA," states Ed Boyer, marketing and sales consultant. The Music In Education program enables each student to progress at their own individual skill level through daily hands-on-experience with a versatile, high-quality instrument. The MIE system includes a comprehensive curriculum designed by teachers to accommodate all learning styles. By utilizing the MIE management software, the instructor has complete control of the children's instruments, and can even mute all of the keyboards with the click of a button. The program also enables the teacher to handle roll call, lesson planning and record keeping while maintaining complete focus on the classroom.
