YAMAHA ACOUSTIC VIOLINS COMBINE MODERN TOUCHES WITH TIMELESS ARTISTRY Three New Models Are High-Tech Realizations of Guarneri del Gesù's Vision GRAND RAPIDS, MI (July 19, 2001)Yamaha Corporation of America, Band & Orchestral Division, announces the debut of three new acoustic violins that translate the revered style of 18th-century Italian artisan Guarneri del Gesù into the modern era: the YAC V10K, the YAC V30K and the YAC V60K.
Featuring high-quality Spruce tops and Maple backs with an original Yamaha oil finish, the violins will be delivered in August. They are the outcome of a unique design process that began with original instruments by Guarneri and used 3D computer imaging, precisely engineered jigs and collaborations with modern master violinmakers to create an original design for the 21st century, borne from the harmony between tradition and technology. Because of their quality and versatility, the YAC V10K, YAC V30K and YAC V60K are ideal for students purchasing full-sized step-up instruments as well as for serious amateur and professional artists. "Renowned artists from Niccolo Paganini to Jascha Heifetz to Isaac Stern have chosen violins made by Guarneri del Gesù, and we want these instruments to be the choice of a new generation of virtuosos," says Michael Schaner, String Instrument product manager, Band & Orchestral Division. "We have a high regard for centuries-old processes, and our hand-made instruments not only preserve, but build upon, the tradition established in Cremona, Italy more than 300 years ago." "As with all Yamaha products, that respect for tradition goes hand-in-hand with our ongoing commitment to the most up-to-date advances in music technology," he adds.
