VERSION 2 ADDS NEW DEPTH TO YAMAHA DM2000

—System Software and Studio Manager Software Upgrade Kit Available—

LAS VEGAS, NV (March 8, 2004)—Yamaha Commercial Audio announces the NSCA introduction of Version 2 (V2) software for the acclaimed DM2000 digital mixing console. V2 represents a significant upgrade for the console's system software and accompanying Studio Manager software, which is compatible with both Windows 2000/XP and Macintosh OS X platforms.

V2 provides the capability to run Yamaha's new add-on effects packages, expanded DAW control, advanced surround functions and approximately 50 new features, including several designed specifically for the broadcast and sound reinforcement markets. V2 is available as an upgrade for current DM2000 owners, and is included in new DM2000 production models (notated as DM2000V2).

Studio Manager V2, included as part of the upgrade, retains the user's ability to manage all console parameters from a computer via a graphic interface, and provides editing, librarian and remote control functions for the DM2000. Functions are replicated on-screen in logical, easy-to-understand pages. Studio Manager V2 also provides a platform of total system recall for multiple, compatible-format consoles and effects products (i.e., multiple DM2000 or SPX2000 units).

"Although it was originally designed as a production console, the Yamaha DM2000 has really become a cross-platform, multi-purpose product," states Larry Italia, general manager, Commercial Audio. "The availability of V2 will enhance the flexibility, performance and functionality of the DM2000, regardless of the application."
