YAMAHA DRUMS PRESENTS THE 5TH ANNUAL LEGENDARY GROOVE NIGHT AND TRIBUTE TO TAKASHI 'HAGI' HAGIWARA

—Specialty Transducer for Kick Drums and Floor Toms Designed by Russ Miller—
ANAHEIM, CA—Now in its fifth year, Yamaha Drums will sponsor its Annual Legendary Groove Night on Saturday, January 17th at the Galaxy Theater in Santa Ana, CA. This invitation-only event will pay tribute to Yamaha Japan's Takashi 'Hagi' Hagiwara who will receive a Yamaha Lifetime Achievement Award. Groove Night is sure to be the highlight of the Winter NAMM show, one certainly not to be missed. Special Honorees include Elvin Jones, Earl Palmer, Roy Haynes and Al Foster.
Hosted by Yamaha drummer Rick Marotta, artists that will share the Groove Night 5 stage include: Tom Brechtlein, Paul Brochu, Gerry Brown, Terri Lyne Carrington, Andre Ceccarelli, Jimmy Chamberlin, Ndugu Chancler, Mickey Curry, Peter Erskine, Anton Fig, Levon Helm, Ralph Humphrey, Akira Jimbo, Steve Jordan, Manu Katche, Russ Kunkel, Paul Leim, Jerry Marotta, Dave Mattacks, Russ Miller, Richie Morales, Jamie Oldaker, Chris Parker, John 'JR' Robinson, Eiji Shimamura, Jabo Starks, Clyde Stubblefield, Dave Weckl and many more surprise guests!
Backed by the infamous Groove Night Band, bandmates include Ross Bolton, Jon Greathouse, Will Lee, Ralph MacDonald, David Spinozza, Neil Stubenhaus, Melanie Taylor, Mark Williamson, Robbie Wyckoff, and The Shelby Groovin' Horn Section featuring George Shelby and Eric Marienthal.
