"With the addition of Magix software, the Yamaha PCMSKIT II represents a complete upgrade from previous versions," states Bryan Savage, manager, Yamaha Accessory Products. "This package now provides the traditional home computer user with a fun, interactive way to not only hone playing skills, but also to learn to read and write music, and even explore basic recording techniques."Programs include Piano and Keyboard Workshop, MIDI Studio and Audio Studio. Piano and Keyboard Workshop contains challenging lessons and a loop feature for practice. Users can load any MIDI file and learn to play it.MIDI Studio creates and mixes multi-track MIDI recordings (up to 128 tracks), adds instant accompaniment or drum tracks, transposes or changes velocity/length, and will even compose and print music scores to a desktop printer. With Audio Studio, audio data can be converted to digital data and stored on a PC. Up to 16 live vocal and instrumental tracks may be recorded and edited, and even layered with digital effects. Users may import, edit and add sound files to their project mix to create professional sounding productions. The Yamaha PCMSKIT II includes a computer-to-keyboard interface, and is currently available at authorized Yamaha dealers. For more information on the PC Music Studio Kit, visit Yamaha at Winter NAMM 2004 in the Marquis Ballroom at the Anaheim Marriott Hotel; write Yamaha Corporation of America, Pro Audio & Combo Division, Accessory Products, P.O.
