NEW YAMAHA CVP200 SERIES CLAVINOVAS SET THE INDUSTRY PACE

—Bigger Memory and USB Connectivity Enhance Home Users’ Enjoyment—
ANAHEIM, CA—Not content to rest on the success of the CVP models introduced in 2001, Yamaha Corporation of America, Piano Division, comes back with a top-to-bottom upgrade of the CVP200 Series of Clavinova digital pianos for Winter NAMM 2003. The CVP202, CVP204, CVP206, CVP208 and CVP210 offer expanded voice ROM, more user memory and, on the top four models, USB connectivity.

"The Clavinova has long been the standard for easy-to-use home digital piano technology that everyone in the family can enjoy," says Jim Levesque, Electronic Keyboard marketing manager, Piano Division, Yamaha Corporation of America. "CVP Clavinovas bring out the musician in everyone, whether they've had a hundred lessons or zero. With the widespread acceptance of personal digital devices like cameras and PDAs, the line’s new USB connectivity will be a warm welcome to the tech-friendly user."
In addition to a built-in TO HOST PC interface, the CVP204, CVP206, CVP208 and CVP210 feature a USB (Universal Serial Bus) interface, which can replace both MIDI In and Out to a computer. With USB, downloading songs from a PC to the Clavinova or vice-versa is as easy as "drag and drop." Users can also download MIDI song and music score data to play and view on the built-in display or print directly from the computer. The USB-equipped models include bundled File Utility software that makes using these "drag and drop" options a snap.
Voice ROM expansion throughout the new CVP200 Series—up to 112Mb on the CVP210—means higher quality sounds and more of them. The CVP204 and CVP206 offer twice as much User Memory as their predecessors. The expansion to 2Mb makes storing the user’s music much easier, and reduces the need for floppy disks.
The new CVPs all include Guide Mode, in which recordings play along with you, not the other way around. The entire new line offers Yamaha’s signature Graded Hammer weighted keyboard action, which recreates the feel of a real grand piano right down to the increased key weights in lower registers. Dual 128-note polyphonic tone generators on the CVP210—a 256-note capacity!—provide a richness no other digital piano can match.
The new CVP200 Series offers advantages not found on other digital pianos, like large, easy-to-read displays and a powerful internal sound system that doesn’t require any extra cabling or speakers unless users desire to integrate it with external sound systems.
The new CVP200 Series offers a variety of cabinet options up and down the line, making the new Clavinovas as versatile in terms of home décor as they are in musical expression. The CVP202 comes in Dark Rosewood. The CVP204 is available in both Dark Rosewood and Cherry. The CVP206 is offered in Dark Rosewood, Cherry and Mahogany. The CVP208 is available in Dark Rosewood and Mahogany. And the top-of-the-line CVP210 features a Polished Ebony cabinet. (Specifications are subject to change without notice.)
