ANAHEIM, CA—Yamaha Corporation of America, Band & Orchestral Division, announces the introduction of two new professional flugelhorns at Winter NAMM 2003.
The YFH-631G and YFH-631GS professional flugelhorns feature a gold brass bell and are available in either a lacquer or silver-plated finish. The bell has a very warm sound, and the .433 bore size makes it easy for players to transition from trumpet to flugelhorn. The horn also has an optional available third valve slide trigger (YAC YFTR), commonly used in jazz performances by trumpet players who double on flugelhorn. The new models are replacing the classic YFH-631 and YFH-731 flugelhorns, and are currently available.
"The improvements made to the YFH-631G and GS make the classic flugelhorn sound even more rich," says Kurt Witt, Wind Instrument product manager. "By adding a gold brass bell, the warmth of the flugel tone is apparent with plenty of focus."
