ALIKE
Durability Meets Beauty in Affordable
YCL Models
ANAHEIM, CAYamaha Corporation of America, Band &
Orchestral Division, announces the debut of four new clarinets
at Winter NAMM 2002, making it easy for players of all abilities
to find a model to fit their needs.
The YCL-250 Bb clarinet allows beginning artists to learn
on a clarinet that is affordable and low-maintenancewithout
sacrificing musical beauty. It combines a tough ABS resin body
and durable Valentino pads with focused tone and enhanced flexibility.
"Musicians who are just beginning to play deserve to
start out with the best instrument in its class," states
Kurt Witt, Wind Instrument product manager, Band & Orchestral
Division, Yamaha Corporation of America. "The YCL-250 will
enhance the sound of the beginning player. It's a strong
instrument that requires minimal maintenance, important for
both students and parents when making a significant purchasing
decision."
The clarinet is made of ABS resin and features a matte finish
with a new barrel design similar to that of Yamaha's renowned
V Series. The bell has a resonance chamber, which gives the
instrument more projection. The Valentino pads make it easier
to repair and more stable in varying temperatures, making the
instrument more dependable, sharply reducing upkeep costs.
The YCL-250 will be available in stores in January, 2002.
Serious clarinetists will find inspiration in the tone and
responsiveness of the YCL-450, YCL-450N and YCL-650 Bb clarinets.
Featuring newly designed 65mm barrelssimilar to Yamaha's
acclaimed V Seriesand durable "blue" steel spring
material, the clarinets offer a beautiful natural finish on
grenadilla bodies. The combination of aesthetic beauty and quick
action promises an outstanding playing experience, as does the
resonance chamber in the bell, which gives the instrument wonderful
projection.
"Precise intonation and a consistent tone make this the
perfect choice in a professional clarinet," notes Witt.
"The new barrel design, combined with more durable springs,
makes the quality of these instruments outstanding."
The YCL-650 Bb clarinet leads the new series in tone and quality.
The YCL-450 combines all these features with a silver-plated
key finish. The YCL-450N has nickel-plated keys. All three instruments
will be available in stores in January, 2002.
