YAMAHA Z SERIES SAXOPHONE GIVES PLAYERS
CLASSIC FEEL, SOUND
Tenor Sax Now Available Without High
F# key
NASHVILLE, TNBuilding on the success of the recently
introduced Z Series saxophones, Yamaha Corporation of America,
Band & Orchestral Division, now offers a version of the
YTS-82Z tenor sax without the high F# key. The absence of this
key enables the horn to respond better, much like a vintage
sax would.
The YAS-82Z alto sax and YTS-82Z tenor sax, collectively known
as the Z Series, merges the main body design of the popular
62 Series models with the body material of the 875 custom model,
a combination that gives the horns incredible response with
a rich tone color and plenty of "pop" to the sound.
They feature the open, free- blowing G1 neck and a new case
design that is extremely lightweight, yet durable.
The horns are completely new products for Yamaha-horns that
players who may not have typically played Yamaha will love.
As a result, top jazz players like Phil Woods, Jeff Coffin,
and Bob Franceschini are now playing Yamaha Z series saxophones.
"The response from professional players that have played
the new horns is the true testament to their sound quality,"
says Kurt Witt, Wind Instrument product manager. "We listened
and the results speak for themselves. Players who didn't think
they could find a modern horn with that vintage response now
have it with the Z."
The horns are also offered in an unlacquered finish, silver,
or black. The Yamaha Z Series saxaphones are currently available.
