LOS ANGELES, CA (October 5, 2002)New York
City's legendary Ed Sullivan Theater recently took
delivery of a Yamaha PM1D digital mixing system for monitor mixing
duties on the CBS hit Late Show With David Letterman. "The
equipment choice was based primarily on the ability to provide
monitor engineer Larry Zinn with enough inputs to mix the house
and guest bands simultaneously, and to provide numerous stereo
in-ear and stage monitor mixes," explains Gene Pelland of
audio contractor Clair Brothers Systems of Lititz, PA. The Clair
engineering team also completed the original integration at the
theater in 1993 with audio designer Stacy Foster. The installation,
supervised by Jim Devenney and Drew Harmon of Clair Brothers,
included a complete PM1D package and permanent racks.
