Grammy® Award-winning duo of James "Jimmy Jam" Harris
and Terry Lewis have emerged as one of the most successful writer/producer
teams in the music industry. A seasoned history of R&B, club,
dance and pop hits, their careers rose to dizzying heights with
a series of smash albums for superstar Janet Jackson. Recently,
Jam and Lewis, who have also collaborated with Michael Jackson,
Mary J. Blige, Gladys Knight, Prince, Boyz II Men, Herb Alpert
and Mariah Carey, have switched over to the Yamaha DM2000 digital
production console to mix their latest projects.

team of James "Jimmy Jam" Harris and Terry Lewis
have upgraded to the Yamaha DM2000 digital production console. |
"I've used the same board for over 15 years,
and I've never considered changing it until now," notes Jimmy
Jam. "The DM2000 has replaced that board."
Developed for the commercial production market,
the Yamaha DM2000 is a complete, multi-platform mixing system,
providing 96 channels of crystal clear, unparalleled dynamic control,
noise-free 24-bit/96kHz audio, and a battalion of effects and
processing.
The high performance digital console offers 96 input
channels, extensive surround production features, integrated digital
audio workstation and ProTools® control, providing more than
nine times the processing power of the Yamaha 02R. While in 96k
mode, there is no loss of any inputs or outputs, due to newly
developed DSP7 LSIs with 32-bit (accumulative 58-bit) internal
processing. A downmix matrix enables L-C-R-S and stereo mix monitoringideal
for 5.1 surround mixing to DVD. Multiple 5.1 stem mixes can easily
be handled.
"We couldn't be more pleased that Jimmy
Jam and Terry Lewis, two legendary producers known for cutting-edge
projects have chosen to use the DM2000," says Larry Italia,
general manager, Commercial Audio Systems Division.
The duo owns and operates Flyte Tyme Productions,
a five-studio production facility in suburban Minneapolis. Their
most recent projects have included Sean "Puffy" Combs'
P Diddy & Bad Boy Presents We Invented the Remix, Mary
J. Blige's No More Drama and Steve Harvey's Sign
Of Things To Come.
