YAMAHA DEALER SUPPORTS LOCAL STUDENTS

—The Piano Gallery Hosts Sutter Park Peace Chorus CD Release Celebration—

DUBLIN, OH (October 25, 2002)—The Piano Gallery, a Yamaha dealer in Dublin, Ohio, hosted a CD release celebration for the Sutter Park Elementary School Peace Chorus' first CD Seeds of Peace, a 10 track CD that was recorded using a Yamaha Clavinova Digital Piano. The Sutter Park Peace Chorus of Sutter Park Elementary School in Worthington, a group of 100 students in grades one through six who act as ambassadors for peace wherever they sing, gave a touching performance at The Piano Gallery.
The Peace Chorus Led in Song

Directed by music teacher Brenda Leary, the Peace Chorus used music as an outlet to express their emotions regarding September 11th. Their CD Seeds of Peace has not only been celebrated in the local community, but their songs can be heard around the world. When Sterling Commerce Co. found out that Seeds of Peace included Bill Crosby's "Patriot's Day," a song about September 11th, they decided to send copies of the CD to its employees who would be far from home on the anniversary of Sept. 11. Over 65 copies were sent to employees in Ireland, England, Scotland, France, Japan, Singapore, and Australia.

Brenda Leary expressed her heartfelt gratitude to The Piano Gallery owners Jerry Wade and Norwin Mergler, for their financial, technical, and educational support, in addition to the music technology and performance opportunities they have provided their children. They are the ones who first introduced Brenda to the Clavinova.

In her remarks to the crowd, Leary said, "Through the awesome technology of the Clavinova, I am able to direct the chorus and play the song accompaniments at the same time. Without the Clavinova, this CD would not have existed, and a great learning opportunity for the children and myself would have been lost."
Peace Chorus Hangs Outside Piano Gallery

Jerry Wade of The Piano Gallery was grateful for the exposure to parents and others in the local community. The folks at The Piano Gallery are thrilled to be a business partner in education with Sutter Park Elementary, and also support other educational outlets in their local community as well.

"We are a major contributor to the Columbus Symphony Orchestra's education programs," said Wade. "When they have family concerts, we come in an hour beforehand and host a 'piano petting zoo.' It is a wonderful hands-on opportunity for local children to learn about the Clavinova and its incredible features by trying them out."

At the release party, refreshments and additional entertainment was provided by The Piano Gallery, and a good time was had by all. The CD release party was the perfect opportunity to share with the community the heartwarming story behind their musical vision. Seeds of Peace is available for $15 at The Piano Gallery and the profits from the CD will go toward a scholarship fund for local, young musicians.
