INNOVATIVE ACOUSTIC, ELECTRIC GUITARIST CREATES WITH YAMAHA SILENT ELECTRIC GUITAR

Yamaha Silent Guitar Artist Lino

BUENA PARK, CA (August 30, 2002)—The international classical/new age debut of Yamaha Silent Guitar Artist Lino, Satin Blue (EverSound), breaks through standard formats to create its own genre of music. The album is a blend of jazz, classical, folk, pop and new age influences and unforgettable melodic passages. It is a departure from his previous recordings, which include Seven Skys, a pop/rock project (Zero Records released in Asia, 1996); 88 Crash, a heavy modern rock album (MTM Metal released in Europe, Summer ‘01), and his most recent rock project V33, a raw mix of modern, industrial, and techno rock.

Lino's guitar of choice is Yamaha's SLG100N, which enables professional and amateur musicians to practice and perform in complete privacy, using headphones, but enjoy the realistic sounds of an acoustic instrument. The SLG100N easily interfaces with the recently introduced Yamaha AG Stomp box, allowing the user to create pleasing acoustic/electric sounds with the unit's microphone modeling capabilities.

"In my music, I like to combine a variety of musical styles and layer many different kinds of guitars," says Lino. "Yamaha's versatility and craftsmanship meet my guitar needs both in the studio and live. In particular, Yamaha's Silent Guitar, in combination with the AG stomp, have become the most essential elements of my live performance. Yamaha has solved the problem of feedback with acoustic and classical guitars and given the acoustic player much more freedom."

Lino began studying guitar at the age of nine with classical master George Bachmann. His incredibly unique and versatile layering of guitars in combination with other instruments lends to his bold blending of musical styles. Lino was born and raised in Akron, Ohio, however, after graduating college with two degrees (History and Pre-Med) from Miami University of Ohio he moved to Los Angeles to compose and perform. In addition to his albums, Lino's composing skills are also in demand in the television and film industry. He heads development for Splash Entertainment's production division with projects that include composing for television, film and cable programs. Most recently, he composed for the National Geographic television series, The Human Edge (Fox Star Productions).
