—AES820’s Acoustic Electric Guitars Won By Two In LA—

The Mighy Mighty Bosstones’ Joe Sirois, randomly chooses a winner

LOS ANGELES (September 13, 2002)—Yamaha Guitars sponsored a giveaway in support of the valiant efforts of the John Lennon Songwriting Bus during the LA stop of this summer’s Warped Tour. Each day hundreds of tour-goers signed up at the JLSC/Yamaha tent and placed their entry into a fishbowl. Joe Sirois of the Mighty Mighty Bosstones was on hand to draw Wednesday’s winner, Simon Nehme of Yorba Linda, CA. The 15-yr-old bass player was so excited about winning a Yamaha AES820, acoustic electric guitar, he was rendered speechless. The second AES820, won by Milly G, an enthusiastic 40-yr-old guitar player from Palm Springs, CA was drawn by Yamaha Guitars' Tom Nguyen.

Yamaha Guitars' Tom Nguyen, Guitar Winner Simon Nehme and Prudence Elliott, Yamaha.

The AES820 features a highly contoured, lightweight solid Alder body with a fast, Black Satin-finished 24 3/4" scale Maple neck and Ebony fingerboards. Electronics include neck and bridge direct-mounted, custom design DiMarzio humbuckers, two Volume controls and a 3-way passive rotary tone switch.
