—Yamaha Magicstomp Stereo Stomp Box Is Hot Item—

BUENA PARK, CA (April 30, 2004)—The Yamaha Magicstomp is a new concept in effects technology for the studio or gigging musician. Loaded with a total of 198 sound programs (99 preset/99 user), the Magicstomp contains vintage and new amp models, studio-quality effects and speaker/microphone models, using powerful 24-bit processing.

The Magicstomp connects via USB to a computer (MAC or PC format) to allow deep editing of programs, patch configuration and patch downloads from the Internet. Bundled software includes driver, editor and tone data files, with a number of preset and additional patches.

Magicstomp users also have a "one stop shop" to upload or download programs free of charge (www.magicstomp.com). The website contains an overview of the unit's features, an audio demo and instruction guide, Patch/PC and Editor/USB Driver downloads and patches from high-profile artists.

Users can simply connect their Magicstomp to a Mac or PC computer via USB and begin editing programs, patch configurations, downloads, or share their patches with other Magicstomp users.

"The Magicstomp has the sonic goods to supercharge your tone," states Joseph Brasler, marketing manager, Yamaha Guitars. "It's not only one of the most powerful and user friendly products around—it's like a journey through the history of effects."

The user-friendly interface contains hot-rod plum and brushed aluminum bodywork, an easy-to-read LCD, three surface multi-function parameter knobs, increment/decrement and on/off switches and volume control. Popular parameters are available in real time. In addition to USB, connections include balanced ¼" stereo outputs. Accessories include a 9-Volt phantom power supply and USB cable.

The Magicstomp is currently available.

"Although the Magicstomp performs complex functions internally, Yamaha has succeeded in keeping the user interface simple and easy to use," states Brasler, marketing manager, Yamaha Guitars. "The real 'magic' here is that we've created a product so powerful and fun, it will be impossible for guitar players to resist."
