"The growth of hard-edged rock, metal, and
other hardcore music styles has increased the demand for larger
drum kits," states Jerry Andreas, marketing manager, Yamaha
Drums. "They're often anchored by double bass drums, and
provide a characteristic massive sound, and an edgy, standout
appearance. With these new configurations, Yamaha is ready to
rock."
All new configurations for the YD, Stage Custom
Standard and Stage Custom Advantage kits include two cymbal stands,
17-in. deep bass drums, and the exclusive Air-Seal system to ensure
uniformity.
YD Kits are now available in 7- and 9-piece double
bass drum designs. The 7-piece is a traditional Heavy Metal "two
up, two down" configuration, with two 22-in. bass drums,
12- and 13-in. rack toms, plus 14- and 16-in. floor toms. The
9-piece double bass set includes 8-, 10-, 12- and 13-in. racks,
with 14- and 16-in. floor toms. Both sets include YDZ cymbals:
a 14-in. hi-hat; 16-in. crash; and a 20-in. ride.
