PRIETO 'SPICES THINGS UP' WITH YAMAHA DRUMS

Dafnis Prieto

BUENA PARK, CA (September 20, 2002)—Cuban drummer Dafnis Prieto provides percussion for Caribbean Jazz Project—one of the most innovative groups in Latin jazz today. The group delights listeners with their inspired mingling of Jazz, Salsa and Latin music. Dafnis, a Yamaha artist, performs on the Maple Custom Absolute Drum Kit.

"I've been playing Yamaha Drums since 1995 because I feel really comfortable with them," says Prieto. "I have found a warm, clear and deeper sound not found in other drums. In addition to the wonderful sound, the design of the drums and hardware is very smart. Their unique system provides a great amount of flexibility, so it is very easy to reach any angle and/or position of the toms, snare drum and cymbals. Yamaha drums and hardware are great reasons to play music!"

In addition to Caribbean Jazz Project's newest work, The Gathering, Dafnis Prieto can be heard performing on other artist albums—Juan-Carlos Formell's Las Calles del Paraiso; Jazzyfatnastees' The Tortoise & The Hare; Sonido Isleno's Tres is the Place; and Yamaha artist Eddie Palmieri's La Perfecta II.
