WHEELED CASE IMPROVES MOBILITY, MANEUVERABILITY

GRAND RAPIDS, MI (April 18, 2002)—Yamaha Corporation of America, Band & Orchestral Division has recently introduced the YAC SHC-43 Sousaphone Case.

YAC SHC-43 Sousaphone Case

The new case features heavy-duty wheels, making it much more mobile and easier to maneuver. A separate compartment – complete with a Velcro bag and wall padding – protects the bell from “mystery dents” caused by loose mouthpieces and tuning bits shifting in transit. In addition, a piano style hinge gives added rigidity to the structure of the case. Draw-bolt latches and a piano-style hinge with a high-impact ABS plastic shell make this one of the most rugged and durable cases on the market.

The case accommodates both Yamaha sousaphone models, the YSH-301 and the YSH-411.

“This case is a great example of an idea whose time has come,” says Kurt Witt, Wind Instrument product manager. “Sousaphone cases have traditionally been very difficult to transport and maneuver. With a multitude of sousaphones available today, buying the right case has been very challenging for a band director. This case changes all of that - it is much more mobile than other existing sousaphone cases, and it will fit both models of Yamaha sousaphones making the band director’s buying decision a bit easier.”

The case is currently available.
