PROFESSIONAL HORNS OFFER IMPROVED RESPONSE, MORE PROJECTION

GRAND RAPIDS, MI (July 11, 2003)—The next generation of YHR-668 French horns from Yamaha Corporation of America, Band & Orchestral Division, were recently introduced.

Yamaha's YHR-668N French horn

The professional horn, a larger Kruspe style instrument, boasts a new leadpipe design and bell taper, dramatically improving response in the mid to low register of the instrument while adding body to the sound. These changes also give the horn a quick response and more projection in all ranges, making it perfect for orchestral performances.

The new French horns take the tone that musicians love in their "classic" instruments and builds on those characteristics. They are an upgrade to four Yamaha YHR-668 models: the YHR-668, YHR-668N (nickel silver), YHR-668D (detachable bell) and YHR-668ND (nickel, detachable bell). All models are currently available.

"From great player collaboration comes great results," states Kurt Witt, Wind Instrument product manager. "The new 668 horns contain all the great qualities of instruments of the past, but add incredibly accurate intonation and improved playability."
