PROFESSIONAL, INTERMEDIATE
ALTO AND TENOR SAXOPHONES INTRODUCED
BUENA PARK, CA (August 15, 2003)Yamaha Corporation
of America, Band & Orchestral Division, recently introduced
professional and intermediate alto and tenor saxophones.
The YAS-62II professional model alto saxophone and
the YTS-62II professional tenor saxophone replace the YAS-62 and
YTS-62, respectively. Both models come with the popular G1 neck,
which is very open and free blowing. Annealing used in the manufacturing
process gives the horns quick response, and updated pads with
a silicon treatment make them more durable. The saxophones also
include a lightweight case with a carrying strap.
"For many players, the 62 is the instrument
that put Yamaha saxophones on the map," says Kurt Witt, Wind
Instrument product manager. "Fans of the classic 62 Series
won't be disappointed with the new horn. Even players that haven't
tried Yamaha in a while will likely be blown away by the responsiveness
of the new 62II."
The YAS-475 intermediate alto and YTS-475 tenor
saxophones were also introduced, replacing the 52 Series. The
instruments feature the high-quality neck that was used on the
classic 62 Series saxophones. The horns have silicon treated pads
to make them waterproof and durable, stylish ABS resin cases which
include a shoulder strap and are stackable.
The new 475 intermediate saxophones now incorporate
even more vertical integration from higher to lower level models.
"Our customers will be very pleased with the added value
of the professional neck and pads incorporated into this intermediate
level instrument," says Witt.
The horns are currently available.
