YAMAHA DEBUTS MG SERIES ANALOG MIXING CONSOLES

—Six Models Offer 10-32 Mixing Channels—

Yamaha MG Family

DALLAS, TX (March 13, 2003)—In response to a growing small-to-midsized sound reinforcement market—where demand for analog mixing consoles remains strong—Yamaha Commercial Audio will debut the MG Series audio mixers at NSCA 2003. A refinement of Yamaha’s MX and GF brands, the MG Series includes six models featuring 10-32 maximum mixing channels for applications that include educational facilities, houses of worship, board rooms, personal monitoring and submixing.

Input configurations include 4-24 mono channels, three-band EQ and a maximum of four stereo inputs with either three- or four-band EQ. Higher-end models are equipped with a two or four GROUP and STEREO output buss structure. MG Console shipments began in February.

Mono channel inputs contain both mic level XLR-type connectors and line level unbalanced TRS phone jacks. Stereo input channels are equipped with both unbalanced phone jacks and RCA phono jacks.

“With the increase in sales of digital mixers, customers in the market for small-format analog consoles have often had to sacrifice quality or features,” states Larry Italia, general manager, Commercial Audio. “Although Yamaha’s name is synonymous with large-format analog sound reinforcement consoles, the MG line demonstrates that we still believe in the viability of the small analog format by offering comparable sound quality and professional-level features.”

From two to a maximum of eight AUX sends provide extended signal routing, while models MG16/6FX, MG24/14FX and MG32/14FX include high quality digital effects sections (two 32-bit Yamaha SPX-type on the 24/14FX and 32/14FX models).
