If you make your living in some facet of the music world, then supporting music education is a debt you owe to your own future. You’re also uniquely qualified to speak out on behalf of others. Whether you work in the recording industry, sell musical instruments, publish sheet music or occupy some other part of the music world, you know better than most people how music can change a life.

Use that voice in your community. If your business is community-based—for example, if you’re an instrument retailer—consider making that business a focal point of local advocacy. You may have a room where music supporters can meet. A copier to make flyers. Even the space in your front window has value to a grassroots music campaign. You might even wish to devote some of your advertising budget to local music advocacy.

And, whether or not you’re a member of NAMM, you should join forces with like-minded music professionals across the country who are working toward the same goal. How? Join AMC!
